Stair Studio helps you design a staircase and spot obvious problems early. It's a head start — not the final word. Please read this before relying on anything it produces.

1.A design aid, not a certified design

Stair Studio is a design aid only. Its 3D models, on-screen checks and exported drawings are intended to help you explore and communicate a staircase quickly. They are not a certified design, an engineering report, or a building approval, and they do not on their own demonstrate that a staircase complies with any law or standard.

2.No professional advice

Using Stair Studio does not create a professional relationship between you and us, and nothing it shows you is professional engineering, building or legal advice. Decisions about a real staircase must be made with suitably qualified professionals.

3.About the safety checks

The checks are based on common Australian rules for home staircases and are simplified to run live as you design. They don't cover every situation, every building class, or every local requirement, and the rules change over time. A “green” result means the values fall within the ranges we check — it is not a guarantee of compliance.

4.Your responsibility

Before building, you must have your design reviewed and signed off by a qualified engineer or building surveyor against the regulations that apply to your specific project and location. You are responsible for the final design and for confirming all dimensions, materials and structural requirements.

5.Exports and watermarks

Every drawing — free or paid — carries a clear “design aid only” line. Please leave it in place. Removing or obscuring it does not change the status of the drawing.

6.No warranty and limited liability

Stair Studio is provided “as is”, without warranties of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on the tool or its outputs. Nothing here excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

In short: use Stair Studio to design faster and catch problems early — then get a qualified professional to check and sign off the real thing.
